A resource to me is another name for a tool. Throughout the course of my class Electonic Resources for Youth, we have looked at dozens of electronic resources including TV, Wikis, Blogs, Twitter, Podcasting (video and audio) PDA's, Gaming and Second Life. This is just the proverbial tip of the ice burg and just looking at the host of activities that ImaginOn includes in thier Technology for Youth programming I'm certain we could have easily spend a full semester, if not a full year on electronic resources and still new ones would have come along if we weren't paying fast attention.
In short though, I think that all resources have to be looked at with a critical eye and always, always, view it as a tool. And of course the tool is only as good as its user. In short: all resources should be used in moderation, with instruction and with a clearly defined goal.
